The Fire and Police Pension Fund would like to remind all reservists in the Fire and Police Departments of the City of San Antonio to contact the Pension Fund upon your return from military duty. This correspondence serves as notice that article 6243o, the pension statute governing our pension fund, specifically allows those members who were on military leave an opportunity to pay back the pension contributions that they would have paid had they remained on active status.
If you were involved in the military and intend to pay back the pension contributions that you would have paid had you remained on active status, you must complete a notice of intent to pay pension contributions and file same with the secretary of the Fire and Police Pension Fund within 90 days of your return to active status.
Further, you must furnish a copy of your military orders or DD214 at the time that you complete said notice of intent.
